On September 13, 2024, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo met to give opinions on the Project to establish Hue city directly under the Central Government.
After listening to the report of the representative of the Government Party Committee and the comments of the agencies, the Politburo discussed and basically agreed with the Project, agreeing to submit it to the 10th Central Party Committee Conference for comments on the policy according to the regulations on the establishment of Hue city directly under the Central Government.
Concluding the Conference, General Secretary and President To Lam noted and emphasized the following points:
Firstly, the establishment of Hue city directly under the Central Government on the basis of Thua Thien Hue province has important political significance, clearly demonstrating the will, aspirations and consensus of all classes of people; creating motivation for Thua Thien Hue to continue promoting the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee, government and people of Thua Thien Hue in the new period; contributing to realizing the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, especially Resolution No. 54-NQ/TW, dated December 10, 2019 of the 12th Politburo on building and developing Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Second, urgently develop a detailed plan with specific tasks and solutions, clearly defining the time to complete the standards of type I urban areas under the Central Government; improve the quality of people's lives, ensure urban quality according to Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2022 of the Politburo on Planning, construction and sustainable development of Vietnamese urban areas to 2030, with a vision to 2045; develop a roadmap for restructuring the apparatus, managing public assets economically according to regulations, avoiding loss and waste...
Third, preserve and promote the value of the ancient capital's heritage and Hue's cultural identity, with ecological, environmentally friendly and intelligent characteristics; effectively implement and build Hue city as the center of the Central region, a large and unique center of the whole country in terms of culture, tourism, science - technology, specialized healthcare and multi-disciplinary, multi-field, high-quality education and training, worthy of the wishes of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the people of the whole country.
