On the afternoon of March 24th at the Headquarters of the Russian State Duma, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and representatives of many parties in the Russian State Duma.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin affirmed that the Russian State Duma is ready to coordinate with the Vietnamese side to implement high-level agreements, bringing the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to become increasingly in-depth, substantive and effective.
The Russian Parliament will continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Parliament in building and perfecting the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economy - trade, energy, education - training.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the role of the Russian State Duma and Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin in perfecting the legal framework, facilitating the implementation of high-level agreements, and supporting the implementation of specific cooperation programs, plans, and projects, in order to promote and deepen cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also wished the Russian side to successfully organize the National Duma election in September 2026.
The two sides affirmed that the relationship between the two National Assemblies has developed very well in the past time; the National Assemblies of the two countries have closely coordinated and cooperated effectively in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, effectively implementing existing cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, especially rotating the Meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
The two sides believe that the National Assemblies of the two sides will continue to create favorable conditions for the implementation of agreements between senior leaders of the two countries; believe that the legislative bodies of the two countries in the new term will always stand side by side, accompany and contribute practically to raising the level of Vietnam-Russia relations in the new era of cooperation.
The Chairman of the Russian State Duma emphasized that although the relationship has continuously developed in recent years, the Vietnam - Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership still has much room and potential for further development.
In that spirit, the two sides exchanged in-depth views on promoting visits in the coming time; cooperating and supporting each other at international and regional forums; strengthening the exchange of legislative and supervisory experiences and creating favorable conditions for the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries, as well as signing new cooperation agreements suitable to the interests of the two sides; agreed to promote the removal of difficulties and obstacles in economic and trade cooperation; support the expansion of people-to-people exchanges, local connections, promote tourism and cooperation in education - training, science - technology.
Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin affirmed that he always wishes Vietnam to develop prosperously and strongly supports the signing of the agreement to build Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant in Vietnam, considering this an important project for Vietnam's energy development process, laying the foundation for the outstanding development of Vietnam's economy in the coming years.
