On the morning of December 25, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform (Steering Committee) held the 3rd meeting of 2025 chaired by Politburo member and President Luong Cuong - Head of the Steering Committee, according to VNA.
Also attending were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri; Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, members of the Steering Committee; representatives of the Central Sectoral Commission.
At the meeting, the Steering Committee reviewed and gave opinions on the contents related to the results of the summary of the work of judicial reform for the 2021-2026 term and the direction and tasks of judicial reform for the 2026-2031 term; the draft Work Program for 2026 of the Steering Committee prepared by the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Project "Summary and evaluation of the regime for People's Barors to find solutions in the coming time" prepared by the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Bar Association.
After listening to the opinions of the delegates and concluding at the meeting, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong - Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform - emphasized that the 3rd meeting of the Steering Committee had fully completed the proposed program with serious opinions expressed, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility, evaluating, clarifying, supplementing, and proposing solutions on judicial reform, building a socialist rule-of-law state.
Based on the assessment of the achieved results and clarifying the shortcomings and limitations in judicial reform in recent years, the President suggested that the direction and tasks of judicial reform for the 2026-2031 term should continue to thoroughly grasp and fully institutionalize the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, especially the Resolution of the 14th National Assembly, the Party's resolutions on building and perfecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's rule of law state; innovate the work of law-making and enforcement in the new period.
Along with that, members of the Steering Committee, based on their functions, tasks and powers, pay attention to leading and directing agencies and organizations under their management to proactively develop a plan to implement the 2026 Judicial Reform Work Program; strengthen inter-sectoral coordination; ensure that tasks are carried out on schedule, with quality and practical efficiency.
The implementation of tasks needs to focus on building and improving the quality of the judicial staff; linking the requirements of job responsibility with high results along with mechanisms and policies for judicial staff to successfully complete their tasks.
Regarding the Project: "Summary and evaluation of the regime for the protection of the people to have solutions in the coming time", the President suggested that it should be implemented in accordance with the provisions of law; at the same time, proactively study and propose amendments and supplements closely following the Party's viewpoint of taking the people as the root and the State as the people's, for the people.
The Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform assigned the Central Internal Affairs Commission and the standing agency of the Steering Committee to fully absorb the opinions at the meeting, complete the summary of the judicial reform work for the 2021-2026 term and the directions and tasks to submit to competent authorities.
