Electricity prices and living costs increase, voters hope for effective management solutions

ANH HUY |

Voters believe that electricity and gasoline prices and living costs are increasing, so they hope that the Government, ministries, branches, and localities will have effective management and administration solutions.

The Committee for Petitions and Supervision has a Report on the National Assembly's petition work in May 2026 sent to the National Assembly Standing Committee.

The report clearly stated that voters and people acknowledge and highly appreciate the positive results in socio-economic development in the context of the world situation still facing many complex fluctuations.

At the same time, expressing confidence in the leadership of the Party, the supervision of the National Assembly and the administration of the Government; expressing agreement and support for the implementation of the two-level local government model, the policy of streamlining the apparatus, promoting administrative reform and digital transformation.

Regarding the management and administration activities of the Government, ministries, and sectors, voters and people acknowledge and highly appreciate the drastic and effective direction and administration of the Government, the Prime Minister and ministries and sectors.

As a result, the macroeconomy continued to stabilize, production and business maintained recovery momentum, and people's lives were ensured; new social security and health care policies were promulgated, showing the practical concern of the Party and State for the people.

At the same time, voters and people are excited about the adjustment to increase the base salary, pension and social insurance allowance; along with that, they want the Government to continue to control inflation well, stabilize prices of essential goods to ensure people's lives.

Regarding the field of education, many voters suggested that the State continue to invest in developing the public school system, and at the same time organize the 10th grade entrance exam and the 2026 high school graduation exam to ensure seriousness and objectivity.

For key projects in Hanoi, the people want the implementation process to absolutely comply with the law, be public and transparent in order to protect the legitimate interests of the affected people.

There are also many concerns about the deployment of using E10 bio-gasoline; serious labor accidents still occur in some fields; extreme weather diễn biến, the risk of power shortage during peak season, flooding, flash floods, landslides of the upcoming rainy and storm season.

In particular, high electricity and gasoline prices and living costs need to be effectively managed and operated by the Government, ministries, branches, and localities. At the same time, proactively respond, promptly remove difficulties, ensure stable people's lives and support the recovery and development of production and business.

The Standing Committee of the Committee for Petitions and Supervision proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee request the Government and the Prime Minister to direct ministries, branches and localities to strengthen the quality inspection of E10 bio-gasoline, and promote information and propaganda to create consensus in the implementation process.

Implement solutions to ensure safe and stable power supply; improve disaster forecasting and warning capacity and deploy plans for disaster prevention, control and response.

Strengthen inspection, examination, and handling of compliance with regulations on labor safety; strengthen inspection and close coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee in the implementation of large projects in the area.

In which, there need to be specific policies and solutions to implement projects to serve resettlement and reconstruction to stabilize the lives and livelihoods of people in areas affected by the Project.
