Brilliant achievements
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on the morning of August 18, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam met with revolutionary veterans, former members of the Party Central Committee of all periods, former leaders of Party departments and agencies, the Fatherland Front and central socio-political organizations.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the great contributions and dedication of revolutionary veterans, former members of the Party Central Committee of all periods, former leaders of Party agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations at the Central level.

The General Secretary emphasized that, looking back on the past 80 years, the history of our nation has been woven from many sacrifices and hardships, but also brilliant with feats and achievements. And in each of those pages of history, there is a strong mark of comrades, who have been in the highest leadership position of the Party through the ages, together with the entire Party in planning guidelines and leading the revolution.
The General Secretary affirmed that from a backward agricultural country, devastated by war, to a developing country with average income, with an increasingly high position in the international arena, there are contributions from revolutionary veterans, former members of the Party Central Committee of all periods, and senior officials of all periods.

Today, our country is entering a new era with the aspiration for rapid and sustainable development, becoming a developed country with high income in the mid-X100th century. The General Secretary stated that in order for the renovation process to continue to be carried out with new determination, new position and strength, new stature, in addition to the efforts of the Party Central Committee, the entire political system and the people, the Party and the State also need the companionship, intellectual contributions, and experience of former members of the Party Central Committee, senior officials through the ages, those who have a deep understanding of the development laws, have experienced difficult situations, and are always steadfast in the goal of the country for the people, and especially preciously, the comrades are still the hearts of roses.
Continuing to be a "soldier on the new front"
The General Secretary expressed that with their intelligence and heart, former members of the Party Central Committee, veteran cadres, and senior cadres of all periods will continue to be "soldiers on the new front" of faith, intelligence, and experience, to work with the current generation to steer the revolutionary boat.
Former members of the Party Central Committee, high-ranking leaders through the ages have left today's generation a profound lesson: To overcome all challenges, we must maintain solidarity, unify the will and action, and take the interests of the nation and the people as the ultimate.

The General Secretary affirmed that those who are shouldering the responsibility today are always aware that inheriting the achievements of comrades is both an honor and a great responsibility; vowing to preserve, promote and develop the values that comrades have diligently cultivated, while continuing to innovate to meet the requirements of the times.
"I believe that, with the spirit of "forever 20," you will continue to accompany, contribute your intelligence, experience, and prestige to help our Party lead the country to overcome all difficulties and challenges, rise up strongly, and successfully fulfill the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam" - General Secretary To Lam emphasized.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented the Party Badge (80 years, 75 years, 60 years, 55 years, 50 years, 45 years and 40 years) to revolutionary veterans and former senior leaders of the Party and State; Party and State leaders presented the Party members' cards (new models) to former leaders of the Party and State.
