On September 3, the Government Office issued Official Letter No. 8190/VPCP-CN conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung on promptly completing the remaining items of the North-South expressway component project in the East through Ha Tinh and Quang Tri.
Official dispatch No. 8190/VPCP-CN stated: According to the report of the Ministry of Construction, up to now, all 5 component projects of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, Bung - Van Ninh, Van Ninh - Cam Lo sections in the two provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Tri under the North - South expressway construction project in the Eastern phase of 2021-2025 have basically completed the main expressway.
Of which, 259.2 km of expressway has been opened to traffic and put into operation, meeting the Government's requirements (the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang project alone has been completely completed).
To complete the remaining items of component projects, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to mobilize the entire political system to resolutely direct the completion of site clearance for the remaining areas (reservoir roads, rest stops...) of the 3 component projects Vung Ang - Bung, Bung - Van Ninh, Van Ninh - Cam Lo before September 15.
The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has solutions to protect construction (at some locations where people obstruct construction) so that contractors can organize the completion of projects according to the required schedule.
The Ministry of Construction urgently directs investors and contractors to focus all resources, continue to promote the spirit of "overcoming the sun to overcome the rain, not losing to storms and winds", "working day, working night, working extra days off", "eating and sleeping quickly during holidays, during Tet", "working 3 shifts, 4 teams"... to construct, striving to complete the 2 component projects of Vung Ang - Bung, Bung - Van Ninh in September 2025, completing the Van Ninh - Cam Lo component project in October 2025.
At the same time, the Ministry of Construction urgently directs investors and the Vietnam Road Administration to actively speed up the implementation of traffic control and operation monitoring items and rest stop items, striving to complete before December 31, 2025.
The 5 expressway component projects are 259.16 km long, with a total investment of 49,206 billion VND, in Ha Tinh and Quang Tri provinces.
In which, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section (35.28km long), Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section (54.2km long), Vung Ang - Bung section (55.34km long), Bung - Van Ninh section (48.84km long), Van Ninh - Cam Lo section (65.5km long) of the North - South axis expressway in the East has an investment scale of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 17m.
