On the morning of October 3, at the Provincial Conference Center, the 1st Congress of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, solemnly opened.
This is an important political event, taking place in the context of the entire Party and people making efforts to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
The Congress was attended by Mr. Le Minh Tri - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, along with many leaders of ministries, departments, branches, revolutionary veterans, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; leaders and former leaders of Vinh Long province, Tra Vinh province, and Ben Tre province through the ages.
The Congress was honored to welcome 499/500 official delegates, representing 152,000 party members in the entire Party Committee. The delegates include leaders, managers, and outstanding party members of sectors and localities, demonstrating the intelligence, bravery, and solidarity of the whole province.
The theme of the Congress is identified as: "Building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; promoting the strength of great solidarity, revolutionary tradition and cultural identity; ensuring national defense and security; promoting innovation, breakthroughs, making Vinh Long develop rapidly and sustainably in the new era". The motto of action is: "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development".
At the official session, the Congress will listen to and discuss the Political Report, the Review Report of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; and at the same time, approve the report on comments on the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress.
The Congress also announced the decisions of the Politburo and the Secretariat on personnel for the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; the Inspection Committee and the delegation attending the 14th National Congress of the Party.
The goal of the 2025 - 2030 term is to build Vinh Long to develop rapidly and sustainably, striving to become a center for marine economy and renewable energy in the Mekong Delta.
The Congress is expected to approve 31 main targets in the fields of economy, culture - society, environment, national defense - security, and Party building; along with 6 key tasks and 3 strategic breakthroughs.
Three strategic breakthroughs focus on the application of science and technology, synchronous development of socio-economic infrastructure and improving the quality of human resources. This is considered an aspiration and determination to help Vinh Long rise strongly in the new era.
