In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - said that with the purpose of celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea and further strengthening the cooperative relationship between Da Nang City and partners and localities of Korea, the People's Committee of Da Nang City coordinated with the Consulate General of Korea in Da Nang City, agencies and organizations of Da Nang and Korea to organize the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Da Nang City in 2025.
According to Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, following the success of the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Da Nang City in 2024, the 4th Vietnam - Korea Festival in 2025 marks the beginning of a new era of development, opening up extensive prospects in the cooperative relationship in many fields between the new Da Nang City and local governments and partners in Korea.
In particular, this year's Festival marks the first time the important Conference "Meeting Korea in Da Nang: Opportunity to enhance cooperation between Da Nang and Korean partners" has been held and has been a great success.
The event is an opportunity for Da Nang and its Korean partners to look back on the cooperation achievements in recent times. At the same time, they exchanged and discussed new, substantial and effective development orientations in the coming time on bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and Korean localities as well as in the fields of investment, trade, tourism, agriculture and science and technology.
According to Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, from 2022 to present, Korea has always been the largest international tourism market of Da Nang City. In just the first 7 months of 2025, the city has reached a record of 1 million Korean visitors - a number that not only reflects the outstanding attraction of Da Nang, but also affirms the strong friendship between the people of Vietnam and Korea.
Notably, on August 1, 2025, Da Nang tourism industry officially marked an important milestone when welcoming the 1 millionth Korean visitor in 2025, affirming the close relationship and sustainable development between Da Nang and the key international market of Korea over the past decade.
With 1 airline in 2011, up to now, there have been 12 airlines directly connecting Korea - Da Nang including Air Busan, Jeju Air, T'way Air, Eastar Jet, Air Seoul, Jin Air, Aero K, Air Premia... along with Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.
The total operating frequency increased 22 times, from 7 to 150 flights/week, making Korea the international market with the most dense aviation network to Da Nang.
At the event, Da Nang City organized a solemn welcoming ceremony for 3 special guests including: The 999,999th guest; The 1,000,000th guest; The 1,000,000th guest.
