According to information from the Central Inspection Committee, on June 17, July 6 and July 7, 2026, in Hanoi, the Central Inspection Committee held its 8th Meeting under the chairmanship of Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee Tran Sy Thanh.
At the Meeting, considering the Report proposing disciplinary action against violating party members at the Party Committees of provinces: Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Ca Mau, Dong Thap and the Party Committee of Vietnam Airports Corporation; the Central Inspection Committee found:
Nguyen Phuong Thao - former member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union; Nguyen The Minh - former member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, Secretary of Binh Lieu Commune Party Committee, Quang Ninh province; Do Truong Giang - former member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, Director of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Industry and Trade; Duong Thanh Trung - former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee (now Ca Mau province); Do Tat Binh - former member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airports Corporation have declined in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; violated Party regulations and laws of the State; violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing very serious consequences, adversely affecting the prestige of Party organizations and localities, agencies, and working units, to the extent that disciplinary action must be taken.
Nguyen Van Duong - former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Personnel Committee, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee (term 2016-2021); Pham Thien Nghia - former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Personnel Committee, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee (term 2021-2026) violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and responsibilities; violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing serious consequences, to the extent of disciplinary action.
Considering the content, nature, severity, consequences, and causes of violations; based on Party regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decides:
- Discipline Expulsion from the Party for Mr. Do Tat Binh, Warning for Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Reprimand for Mr. Nguyen Van Duong.
- Request competent authorities to consider and discipline individuals: Nguyen Phuong Thao, Nguyen The Minh, Do Truong Giang, Duong Thanh Trung.
Also at the meeting, considering the Report on the results of inspecting the implementation of inspection, supervision, and disciplinary action tasks in the Party for the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Inspection Committee; inspecting Party finances for the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; inspecting the declaration of assets and income for comrades under the management of the Politburo and the Secretariat at the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, the Central Inspection Committee found:
Besides the advantages and achieved results, the inspected party organizations and party members also had some violations and shortcomings in leading, directing, and organizing the implementation of inspection, supervision, and enforcement of Party discipline tasks; in managing and using the Party's finances and assets; in declaring assets and income.
The Central Inspection Committee requests inspected Party organizations and Party members to continue to promote their strengths; seriously review, draw experience, and promptly overcome the violations and shortcomings that have been pointed out, and report the results to the Central Inspection Committee.
Also at this session, the Central Inspection Committee considered and resolved the denunciation of 1 party member and concluded on some other important contents.
