On the afternoon of June 13, leaders of the Party Committee of Bich Hao commune, Nghe An province, said that the locality had received a decision to discipline Mr. Nguyen Khanh Thanh, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Bich Hao commune, from the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.
According to the decision, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Thanh was prosecuted as a defendant by the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Provincial Police and temporarily detained for investigation into the act of "Receiving bribes".
Based on the Party's regulations and the proposal of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee decided to impose disciplinary action in the form of expulsion from the Party on Mr. Nguyen Khanh Thanh.
Mr. Thanh, 49 years old, has many years of working in the locality and used to hold key leadership positions in the old Thanh Xuan commune. Before being elected as Chairman of Bich Hao Commune People's Committee, Mr. Thanh was Secretary of the Party Committee cum Chairman of Thanh Xuan Commune People's Committee.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Thanh applied to resign from the position of Chairman of Bich Hao Commune People's Committee for health reasons. This content has been considered and agreed upon by the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee before submitting it to the Commune People's Council for resolution.
On April 18, the People's Council of Bich Hao commune held a meeting and approved the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Khanh Thanh from the position of Chairman of the Commune People's Committee.
On May 8, 2026, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a decision assigning the power of Chairman of Bich Hao Commune People's Committee to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hao - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Bich Hao Commune People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term.
Bich Hao commune was established from July 1, 2025 on the basis of merging 4 communes Mai Giang, Thanh Lam, Thanh Tung and Thanh Xuan belonging to the old Thanh Chuong district. The commune's administrative headquarters is located in the old Mai Giang commune.
