The inauguration ceremony was attended by former President Nguyen Minh Triet, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Vo Van Minh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, and officials and leaders of agencies and people in Binh Duong province.
The project was built at the War Zone D Memorial Site in Dat Cuoc Commune, Bac Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong Province.
Military Region D is one of the important revolutionary bases in the Southeast region. This place has marked the glorious feats and heroic sacrifices of many generations of cadres, soldiers and people in the struggle for national liberation, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
With its historical significance, Military Region D was recognized as a National Monument in 2010.
In 2011, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province approved the project to build a memorial area of Military Region D with an area of about 40 hectares. The project has a total investment of more than 391 billion VND, invested by the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board. By 2016, the relic site was completed and put into operation.
After that, Binh Duong province continued to build a central monument at the War Zone D memorial area. The project has an investment capital of about 176 billion VND, constructed by Dai Phong Infrastructure Construction Joint Stock Company.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Van - Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the central monument is 46m high, the monument and relief are all covered with bronze, creating a symbolic highlight for the overall project.
The space of the central monument has a harmonious architecture with the landscape, along with a system of regional trees and memorial works.
Mr. Bui Minh Tri - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that the completion of this meaningful project aims to honor historical relics and revolutionary traditions. The project will be a place for generations to learn about the land and people of Military Region D, while creating a new boost for Binh Duong tourism in the new era.

A project of special historical, cultural and humanistic significance to the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Duong province", said Mr. Bui Minh Tri.
