On February 19, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a working conference with agencies and units on activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Senior General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - chaired the conference.
Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the Ministry of National Defense shall preside over and coordinate the implementation of 7 national commemorative contents, including:
Preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City and relevant agencies and units to organize parades and parades during the Ceremony;
Preside over and coordinate with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Ministry of Public Security and Ho Chi Minh City to organize a national scientific conference;
Coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies and units to organize the Commemoration Ceremony; Coordinate with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Ho Chi Minh City to compile and issue a Propaganda Outline;
Direct the organization of information, propaganda, and patriotic emulation activities according to the instructions of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee and the Ministry of Home Affairs;
Direct the Vietnam Military History Museum to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the National Museum of History to organize a thematic exhibition on events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City;
Coordinate the organization of a meeting of Party and State leaders with representatives of veterans and former youth volunteers participating in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet praised the agencies and units, especially the agencies and units assigned to preside over the organization of the celebration activities, for proactively developing plans and implementing assigned tasks; at the same time, requested the Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics) to preside over and coordinate with news agencies and newspapers inside and outside the Army to do a good job of propaganda, especially propaganda on digital platforms, fully and vividly reflecting the celebration activities.
For arising tasks, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet requested agencies and units to carefully study, seek opinions from relevant agencies, and speed up the implementation progress.
Agencies and units continue to review, proactively grasp to promptly reward and encourage forces participating in performing tasks, especially forces participating in parades and parades during the Ceremony.
