In the afternoon of May 15, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra chaired a working session with ministries and sectors on the plan to transfer management of My Dinh National Sports Complex.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra said that after 25 years of formation and development, My Dinh National Sports Complex has promoted its role and contributed to the political, cultural and sports tasks of the country. However, the operation process also has many difficulties, obstacles and prolonged backlogs that have not been resolved.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the transfer of management of My Dinh National Sports Complex to better promote the efficiency of management, operation, and exploitation is necessary, but it needs to be carefully studied, ensuring a full political, legal, scientific and practical basis.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that the consideration of the transfer plan must be placed in the overall national sports development plan and the master plan of Hanoi Capital with a 100-year vision that has just been approved.
In which, it is necessary to calculate synchronously with large projects being invested in construction such as the North Red River sports complex and the Olympic sports urban area.
Emphasizing the requirement to thoroughly handle the remaining problems of the National Sports Complex, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the reception must be carried out in its original state, including organizational structure, personnel, assets, infrastructure and transitional projects.
It is not possible to transfer when legal, financial, land, and asset issues have not been clarified," the Deputy Prime Minister noted and requested that the transfer dossier must ensure full political and legal basis, and be within its authority.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently complete the overall report, which clarifies the political, legal, and practical basis of the transfer; clearly identify difficulties, obstacles, responsibilities for handling and propose solutions according to their authority.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that all activities of the My Dinh National Sports Complex must be maintained normally, without interruption or stagnation during the waiting time for transfer.
For Hanoi, the Deputy Prime Minister requested a comprehensive review of the planning related to the My Dinh National Sports Complex, assessing the appropriate scale of the complex in the new development orientation of the Capital.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, and relevant agencies to complete the report before May 25, 2026, for the Government Office to summarize and report to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on the next steps.
