The National Assembly Chairman requested to create maximum conditions for the press to operate effectively, in line with the development trend of the modern press economy.

On June 15, in Hanoi, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with press agencies to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man acknowledged the active contributions of press agencies, reporters, editors, filmmakers... to the innovation activities of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

I have witnessed many late meetings, many business trips to the locality are very long and arduous, but when the meeting ended, I saw news on electronic newspapers, on radio and television, both domestically and internationally...

The press has truly brought the National Assembly closer to voters and brought the breath of life and aspirations of voters to the parliament. Reporters and editors work very hard, but they are not afraid of difficulties and hardships to do their job well," the National Assembly Chairman shared.

In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the press should further disseminate the Party's major policies; 4 pillar Resolutions (Resolution No. 57, Resolution No. 59, Resolution No. 66 and Resolution No. 68) and the Resolutions of the National Assembly institutionalizing these Resolutions; on preventing corruption, waste and negativity.

In particular, propaganda on implementing the model of two-level local government, on merging provinces according to the Central Government's policy and the Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution is expected to be approved on June 16.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the press continue to closely monitor and fully and promptly report information about the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels to voters, people nationwide and international friends.

Timely convey the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people to the National Assembly, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Assembly's activities; building an increasingly professional, modern and approachable image of the National Assembly.

Implementing the revolution of streamlining the apparatus of the political system, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that press agencies promote digital transformation, build professional, humane, modern press agencies, maintain information sovereignty in cyberspace, promote the development of the digital content industry.

Focus on studying and amending the Press Law and related laws, creating maximum conditions for press to operate effectively, in accordance with the characteristics of each type of press and the development trend of the modern press economy.

The National Assembly Chairman said that recently, the corporate income tax rate for the press has been agreed to be reduced to 10%, demonstrating the understanding, sharing and high sense of responsibility of the delegates and the National Assembly towards the press.
