Encourage young scientists to be more confident, think bigger

The Vice President encouraged young scientists to be confident in their talents and think bigger to create valuable and highly applicable scientific works and products.

On November 22, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with young scientists who received the first Khue Van Cac Award in 2024.

According to the Office of the President, expressing her joy and impression when meeting the outstanding young scientists, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that under the leadership of the Party, State and society, many movements to encourage learning, encourage talents, and awards have created a common atmosphere in emulation in studying, working, producing and scientific research, especially among the young generation. The Central Youth Union has many initiatives, launching movements and awards that are close to the practical requirements of the country, including the Khue Van Cac Award.

Summarizing the current world and regional context, the Vice President emphasized that the whole country is making every effort to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, preparing for the 14th National Party Congress - a Congress of special significance, creating the premise for the country to enter a new era, an era of national development. The new context and requirements of the revolutionary cause require the efforts of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people, including the important responsibility of the young generation, especially young scientists.

The Vice President also encouraged young scientists to be confident in their talents, think bigger to create scientific works and products of high value and practical application, closely following the political and social life of the world, the region and Vietnam.

Thereby, contributing to increasing labor productivity, improving people's material and spiritual life; solving cultural, social and economic challenges, preserving and promoting national cultural values, creating a foundation for the country's sustainable development.

The Vice President requested all levels, sectors and localities to continue to pay attention to investing in science, including social sciences and humanities; upgrading facilities and equipment for research, especially in universities, centers and research institutes. At the same time, creating a favorable environment for scientists to fully develop their creativity and research capabilities, contributing to the overall development of the country.

Receiving the opinions and directions of the Vice President, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet - President of the Central Youth Union of Vietnam - said that the Central Youth Union will fully implement the orientations and expectations of the Party and State leaders in creating a playground and environment to both discover, accompany, nurture and promote the role of young people and young researchers to contribute to the development of the country.

This is the first time the Central Youth Union has organized the Khue Van Cac Award - dedicated to young Vietnamese scientists under 35 years old who are studying, researching and working at home or abroad with outstanding achievements in the field of social sciences and humanities.

The award aims to concretize the Party and State's policy on developing high-quality human resources and implementing the Project "Discovering, nurturing and promoting young Vietnamese talents in the period of 2022-2030" approved by the Prime Minister, while affirming the special role and importance of social sciences and humanities for the country's development.
