On May 17, the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Office and the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Office held a conference to discuss a number of issues on the work of reorganizing the apparatus of the Provincial People's Committee Office after the merger of provinces.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Dang Vu Bang - Chief of Office of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Le Ky Quang - Chief of Office of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee.

According to the draft outline of the project to establish An Giang People's Committee Office on the basis of merging the Office of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee and An Giang People's Committee Office, before the consolidation, the People's Committee Office of the two provinces with a total of 19 specialized and equivalent departments; 3 affiliated public non -business units.
It is expected that after the mechanical merger, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee has 10/19 specialized and equivalent departments, two -thirds of public non -business units. Reducing 10 units due to consolidation of similar units, including: General Department, Economic Department; Department of Science - Literature; Department of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs Department, Administration - Organization Division; Department of Management - Finance; Citizen reception committee; Center for Public Administration, Provincial People's Committee Office Guest House.
The total number of positions assigned in 2025 is 176 people; the number of employees receiving salaries from the State budget is 39 people. The total number of current cadres and civil servants is 158 people, the total number of current cadres and civil servants is 36 people.

Speaking at the meeting, Chief of Office of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Dang Vu Bang suggested that based on the draft Project on reorganizing the apparatus of the Provincial People's Committee Office, the two units continue to closely coordinate the working process and regulations, and soon complete the Project.
