According to the Draft Project on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, Kien Giang province aims to arrange and reorganize the province's grassroots administrative units with 48 grassroots administrative units. Including 3 special areas: Phu Quoc, Tho Chau, Kien Hai; 4 wards are Rach Gia, Vinh Thong, Ha Tien, To Chau and 41 communes.
