Discipline a Deputy Director for using an illegal university degree

Dak Nong - Mr. Le Thanh Chung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, was disciplined for using an illegal university degree.

The Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission held its 44th and 45th meetings (Term XII). At the meetings, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission reviewed the results of the inspection of party members with signs of violations and the review results, and proposed disciplinary action against Mr. Le Thanh Chung, Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Party Cell 3, Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission found that Mr. Chung had committed violations: using an illegal university degree to receive training, salary increases, and appointments that were not in accordance with regulations. Mr. Chung's actions affected his personal reputation, the agency, and the party organization where he worked and lived.

Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; based on Party regulations, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee decided to discipline Mr. Le Thanh Chung. The form of discipline is dismissal from all positions in the Party.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on November 28, 2024, Dak Nong Department of Construction issued a document revoking Mr. Le Thanh Chung's practice certificates. Including valid and expired practice certificates that the Department of Construction had issued to Mr. Chung. The reason was that Mr. Chung used an illegal university degree to submit an application for a construction practice certificate. The incident was discovered by the Department of Construction Management, Ministry of Construction.

After the incident, Mr. Chung submitted a resignation letter.
