Commensurate development, reaching out with the nation
2025 - a very special year with many major and important events of the country such as the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025); the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 135th Anniversary of the birth of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh (19.5.1890 - May 19, 2025); the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945 - 2025). And 2025 is also very special when marking the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese revolutionary press, marking the glorious historical journey of the revolutionary press accompanying the birth, maturity and development of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
During that process, under the leadership of the Party, first and directly led by President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has always been the core force, playing a pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front, contributing greatly to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the country.
Over the past century, Vietnamese revolutionary press has continuously grown in scale, quality, team and social influence. In particular, before the country entered a "new era - the era of national growth", the press has been spreading and fulfilling the aspiration to develop a strong and prosperous country as the goals set by our Party. Journalism activities have always received special attention from Party and State leaders through the ages.
At the 9th National Press Award ceremony on Party building called "Golden Liem Rice" held in early 2025, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: In recent times, the press has done a very good job of propagating and widely disseminating the Party's major policies and orientations on the "new era", on the revolution of streamlining the apparatus of the political system, on efforts and determination to handle the "bottlenecks" that are hindering the country's development.
Thereby, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has truly immersed itself in the flow of practical life, clearly demonstrating its role in guiding the ideology and accompanying the major steps of the Party, creating a spread of trust, responsibility, and aspiration for development among all classes of people. Those contributions are not only the result of creative work but also a testament to the bravery, intelligence, and social responsibility of the press team in carrying out its historical mission.
General Secretary To Lam also emphasized that the country's achievements in nearly 40 years of innovation are great. The new era is opening up the prosperous future of the nation. The new era also poses a new, higher task for revolutionary journalism, requiring journalism to develop commensurately, rise up with the nation, and be worthy of a professional, humane, and modern journalism. The public hopes to have more and more truly excellent, large-scale pens and press works that convey the great transformations of the Party and the nation, with high political and ideological value.
Emphasizing the important tasks and national context in 2025, General Secretary To Lam requested that the press writing about Party building actively contribute to helping our Party become increasingly clean, strong, and on par with the historical responsibility and mission of leading the nation for development in the new era. The press must closely follow the political tasks and major issues of the Party and the country to focus on comprehensive, in-depth, effective, focused and key propaganda.
Lighting up the flame of Innovation - Aspiration - Action
In mid-May 2025, the Politburo and the Secretariat held a national conference to disseminate and implement the Politburo's Resolutions, in which the innovations and reforms focused on 4 breakthroughs: Resolution 57 of the Politburo on promoting science, technology and innovation; Resolution 59 on proactive international integration. Resolution 68 on strong development of the private economic sector; Resolution 66 on comprehensive innovation of law making and enforcement.
According to General Secretary To Lam, up to now, the above 4 Resolutions can be called "The Four pillars" to help us take off. Therefore, the General Secretary called on the entire political system, the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to join hands, be united, overcome all difficulties, turn aspirations into actions, turn potential into practical strength, to together bring our country into a new era - the era of development, prosperity and power of the Vietnamese people.
Among the many key groups of tasks mentioned in 2025, the General Secretary requested to promote communication, create social consensus, build national communication programs on each resolution; enhance policy dialogue between the Government, businesses, people and intellectuals, mobilize social intelligence for the implementation process.
General Secretary To Lam also stated that we have sufficient grounds to firmly believe in a bright future for the country. With the heroic tradition, intelligence, bravery and the desire to continuously rise of the entire nation, Vietnam will continue to make steady progress on the path of rapid and sustainable development.
Lets together light the fire of Innovation - Aspiration - Action, for a rich, prosperous, and powerful Vietnam, on par with the world powers by 2045 - General Secretary To Lam emphasized.
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, this is not only a brilliant milestone in the history of the country's press, but also opens a new journey, the journey of revolutionary press to break through, transform, and develop worthy of its important role, position, and tasks in the new era of the nation - the era of development, prosperity.
