According to the Ministry of Public Security's electronic information portal on October 8, based on Article 46 of Decree No. 98/2023/ND-CP dated December 31, 2023 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, the Ministry of Public Security organized a public consultation on the consideration of commendation for the following individuals:
Consider awarding the title "National Emulation Fighter" to Colonel Tran Thanh Son - Deputy Director of Son La Provincial Police.

According to the Son La Provincial Electronic Information Portal, Colonel Tran Thanh Son - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department is known by his teammates as the "steel leader" of the Son La Police Department.
In 1997, Mr. Tran Thanh Son graduated with a major in Criminal Investigation from the People's Police University (now the People's Police Academy).
During his working process, Mr. Tran Thanh Son directly experienced many different working positions. During his 5 years of secondment, working at the Office of Son La Provincial Party Committee, he advised the Son La Provincial Party Committee on many policies in drug prevention and control.
Having held many positions, from November 2022 to present, Mr. Son is Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, Head of the Investigation Police Agency.
Colonel Tran Thanh Son was awarded the First, Second and Third Class Military Exploit Medal by the President and a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for his outstanding achievements in the fight against crime; along with many certificates of merit from all levels and sectors.
