The U21 Vietnam women's volleyball team will have a match against U21 Indonesia on the opening day of the 2025 U21 World Cup.
Compared to the remaining teams in the same group such as Argentina, Serbia, Puerto Rico and Canada, host Indonesia is considered the most comfortable opponent for coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team.
In terms of force, U21 Vietnam is a gathering of the best faces of this age group, including main attackers Pham Quynh Huong, Dang Thi Hong, Nguyen Lan Vy, Bui Thi Anh Thao; middle attackers: Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Le Nhu Anh, Le Thuy Linh; opposite set Ngo Thi Bich Hue, Pham Thuy Linh; setter Lai Thi Khanh Huyen, Nguyen Van Ha and libero Ha Kieu Vy.
In particular, Dang Thi Hong was trusted by the coaching staff and the whole team to be given the captain's armband.
Most of them are names that competed in the VTV Cup 2025 international women's volleyball tournament. Only the case of setter Van Ha, although not competing in the VTV Cup 2025, with her potential, the female player of Kinh Bac Bac Ninh is still chosen.
Before the tournament, coach Nguyen Trong Linh shared: "We were shown video to grasp the expertise of our opponents. All teams have good expertise and strong young players. The U21 Vietnam women's volleyball team will try to compete in each match of the tournament".
The match between the U21 Vietnam Volleyball Team and the U21 Indonesia will take place at 7:00 p.m. today (August 7) and will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the World Volleyball Federation.
