Talking to PV Lao Dong Newspaper on the National Assembly corridor, delegate Truong Xuan Cu - Delegation of Hanoi City Delegation (Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Vietnam Association of Elderly) said that it is necessary to retain the title of Chairman of the Elderly Association at the commune level, in order to advise the commune -level People's Committee on the activities of the elderly in the area; direct the activities and movements of the Association at the grassroots level.
According to delegate Cu, the movements of the Association of the Elderly at the grassroots level have been widely implemented in all fields and achieved positive results.
As the result of summarizing 5 years of the movement on the role of the elderly in building and protecting security and social order, there are 800,000 valuable crime denunciations contributed by the elderly.
Regarding economic development, there are currently about 400,000 elderly people nationwide who are good at production and business who have been commended and the movements to build new rural areas, urban civilization... all have the role of the elderly.
"To have that result, there must be someone to launch, someone to direct, someone to organize, someone to summarize, and summarize", delegate Truong Xuan Cu shared and emphasized the need to have the position of Chairman of the Association of the Elderly at the commune level.
According to delegate Cu, currently the Chairman of the Association of the Elderly at all levels (province, district, commune, ward, residential group, village...) is mostly a concurrent position, not a separate position.
Delegates wishing to have information soon affirmed that when the non -responsible position at the commune level ended the operation, the title of Chairman of the Elderly Association will be concurrently by a cadres and civil servants of the commune and ward, in order to ensure that the activities of the Association are not interrupted, the elderly at the grassroots level is assured.
Changing the concept of "age is just for fun"
According to delegate Truong Xuan Cu, there are currently about 1 million elderly people in our country participating in Party committees, authorities, the front, and organizations in villages, hamlets, and residential groups. There are about 7 million elderly people working in production...
Delegate Cu emphasized that the elderly always promote the 740 years of the Red River Fireworks Festival and the 84 years of calling on President Ho Chi Minh to save the country.
In the new era, the elderly are also responsible and eager to contribute.
"Up to now, there has been a common concept that old people only have to eat and play, but now they have to be different, the older they are, the more they have to work, that is the trend of the world.
Labor is to ensure that the elderly are healthy, have strong physical strength, and have no decline in intelligence, and that income is the last thing," delegate Cu emphasized.
From the above reality, the Central Vietnam Association of Elderly determined that, in addition to the task of protecting and caring for the elderly, the task of promoting the role of the elderly is also particularly concerned.
