On May 20, informing reporters, a representative of Lam Binh District People's Committee said that a sinkhole appeared in the area near the provincial road DT188, in Phuc Son commune. The sinkhole is about 1m wide, the depth of the hole is not yet determined.
In recent days, Lam Binh district has often experienced heavy rain. The Lam Binh District Investment and Construction Project Management Board is making a plan to overcome the situation.
To ensure the safety of people and vehicles, the authorities have placed warning signs, stretched ropes and placed rocks around the sinkhole area. At the same time, the authorities are continuing to monitor, investigate the cause and implement a handling plan according to regulations.
Meanwhile, in Bac Kan, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, from the end of March 2025 to now, in Kim Lu commune, Na Ri district, 7 sinkholes have appeared, directly threatening the lives and property of people in the area.
Faced with the increasing trend of subsidence, on May 14, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province issued a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency for the above phenomenon.
