"Some people have commented that it is a waste for me to hire older staff with high salaries. For me, I am an older worker in some professions such as precious gems. Their experience is something that no one can buy. My company is in the export sector, has many foreign partners, so being strict in work stages and having experience in trade negotiations is a necessary thing, said Mr. Trung.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chi An (Thanh Tri district, Hanoi) retired in 2019. With more than 30 years of experience as a preschool teacher, including 14 years as a manager, Ms. An was quickly signed a contract as a principal by a preschool.

Proactively working after retirement
According to Mr. Le Quang Trung - former Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Employment, the reality shows that retirees are often workers over and under the age of 60, most of them are still eager and eager to continue working because they are still alert and healthy.

Most retirees, especially those working in state agencies, have a lot of experience and working skills, many have been trained in professional knowledge, skills, etc., so they still want to work to affirm their position and contribute to their family and society, Mr. Le Quang Trung affirmed.
According to Mr. Trung, the current law of the Labor Code and the Law on Employment (Article 3) stipulates that the age of employees is from 15 years old or older, without the above age requirement, along with other regulations, creating conditions for retirees to continue working.
In reality, many businesses recruit retirees and elderly people from management, operation, consulting, direct production positions... to work, many people bring their knowledge and experience to share and contribute. At the same time, they are also able to share and receive information, learn new knowledge during their work, and continuously improve themselves to meet the needs of their work. This is a valuable human resource provided for the labor market, said Mr. Le Quang Trung.
