Highlighting the historical process, Major General Tran Ngoc Anh emphasized that the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army is also the traditional day of the General Staff. The development of the General Staff and the activities of the Party and political work are always closely linked to the process of building, fighting, winning, developing and maturing of the Vietnam People's Army.
"Throughout the glorious history of the past 80 years, the General Department of the Vietnam People's Army has always thoroughly grasped the Party's viewpoints and guidelines and the State's policies and laws; proactively, sensitively, and sharply advised and proposed to the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and regularly and directly the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to propose correct and creative policies and decisions in planning strategic guidelines and strategies for the struggle for national liberation, leading and directing the building of the people's armed forces and a strong national defense. In particular, building a politically strong People's Army, making Party work and political work always the "soul and lifeblood" of the Vietnam People's Army" - Major General Tran Ngoc Anh emphasized.
Major General Tran Ngoc Anh said that the historical practice of the past 80 years has affirmed the quality and effectiveness of the organization and operation of the General Department of Politics, political agencies, political cadres at all levels, and that Party work and political work hold a particularly important position and role, having a strong and direct impact on the effectiveness of the Party's leadership mechanism with the army, on the political quality and strength of the army.
Also at the press conference, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy - Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department - said that the TCCT organized many practical activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its tradition.
