On June 30, according to the Ministry of Public Security's electronic information portal, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister, Head of the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security just had a working session with Da Nang City Police on the situation and results of drug crime prevention and control in the area.
At the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long assessed that Da Nang City Police have synchronously implemented many solutions, achieving many positive results; notably, building many communes and wards without drugs; effectively implementing drug detoxification work; strengthening the review of addicts, illegal drug users and retail drug dealers; promptly detecting and handling hotspots showing signs of organizing and harboring illegal drug use.
Emphasizing that the achieved results have made an important contribution to ensuring security and order in the city, the Deputy Minister of Public Security also frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations and requested Da Nang City Police to focus on overcoming them in the coming time.
Accordingly, Da Nang City Police need to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Ministry of Public Security's Plan on general review of addicts, illegal drug users, subjects organizing the use and illegal trading of drugs; ensuring that no subjects are missed. On the basis of performing this task well, continue to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the goal of building communes and wards without drugs.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long emphasized that the areas that have completed the goal of building communes and wards without drugs must maintain their results; if violations related to drugs arise, they must be promptly detected and handled, not allowing the formation of hotspots, complex hotspots or becoming hiding places for drug crime activities.
Regarding the investigation and handling of crimes, the Deputy Minister of Public Security requested Da Nang City Police to focus on reviewing and definitively resolving temporarily suspended cases and incidents; and at the same time limit new developments. The investigation and handling of cases, especially drug cases, must ensure compliance with legal regulations, closely follow the guidance of the Ministry of Public Security, and pay attention to expanding the investigation and thoroughly handling related acts and subjects.
Regarding drug detoxification work, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long requested to absolutely ensure security and safety at facilities; organize good vocational training, cultural learning, and discipline education activities; ensure full living conditions, cultural and spiritual life for students according to regulations.
