On April 26, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An province held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Long An province and the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending were former Politburo member and former President - Truong Tan Sang; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission - Nguyen Trong Nghia; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister - Mai Van Chinh; Party Central Committee member, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - Nguyen Van Duoc; Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc - Political Commissar of Military Region 7.

Speaking at the review of the heroic tradition of the army and people of Long An through historical periods, Long An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet assessed that in all circumstances, the land along the heroic Vam Co River always marks events, movements and heroic battles.

The heroic tradition has molded 8 yellow words "Trung Dung resilient, the entire people fight the enemy". With all beliefs, pride, Long An army and people have rebelled with battles to disintegrate the entire Saigon government system in the locality, contributing to the glorious victory of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, completely liberating the South and reunification of the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Propaganda Department and Central Mobilization Nguyen Trong Nghia acknowledged the impressive achievements of Long An province achieved in the past half century on the journey to overcome the consequences of war and build the homeland. At the same time, believing that, with the existing internal resources and revolutionary traditions, Long An will continue to promote the synthesis strength, overcome all challenges, successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the Provincial Party Committee, contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Party.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia requested Long An to focus on implementing a revolution to innovate the organization and apparatus of the political system to be "streamlined, compact, strong, efficient, effective and efficient" according to the Central Government's policy, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new development stage, contributing to bringing the country into an era of development and reaching the next level.
