People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City - said that since September 2023, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has implemented a plan to vote for and commend outstanding literary and artistic works, to honor the outstanding contributions of the city's artists in the journey of half a century of formation and development.
According to People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, to implement the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City has established an electronic information page to vote for typical literary and artistic works of Ho Chi Minh City towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The information page is widely promoted through the press system, digital platforms, channels of the Literature and Arts Association, departments, and organizations, to reach a diverse audience.
Through the voting period, more than 55,000 votes from the public were recorded - demonstrating the society's interest and support for artistic activities.
The city -level voting council has agreed to recognize 50 official literary and artistic works, in the following areas: Fine Arts field has 5 works; Photography field has 5 works; Literature field has 5 works; Architectural field has 5 works; The field of literature and art of ethnic minorities has 5 works; The dance field has 5 works; The film field has 6 works; The music field has 7 works and the stage of the stage has 7 works.
According to Ms. Duong Cam Thuy, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Association, this activity of profound political and cultural significance aims to respectfully recognize and commend works of high ideological and artistic value, contributing positively to the sustainable development of the city's literature and art after the country's reunification.
The organizing committee also organized exchanges with outstanding authors and works, including: Musician Pham Minh Tuan - author of the song "City of Love and nostalgia"; People's Artist Huu Danh - author of the award-winning play "Le Cong Ky An"; Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - representative of the group of authors of the Ceramic painting Department at Ben Duoc Temple and Mr. Tuan Le - Director of "A O Show".
Ho Chi Minh City has shown gratitude for the serious and persistent artistic work of the artists. At the same time, encourage and motivate the creative force to continue to promote their capacity and enthusiasm to produce more quality works, rich in depth, with strong influence in social life.
