On the morning of April 26, at the Youth Cultural House, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce 50 outstanding events and activities, marking the 50-year journey of proud construction and development since the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
A series of 50 events and typical activities selected stretching in many fields, reflecting the historical, political, socio -economic imprints typical of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the whole country in general in the period 1975 - 2025. The event received the widely support and support of the people and organizations through the process of collecting comments and official evaluation.
The gold table of 50 marks includes: 14 political events, 2 defense and security events, 2 medical events, 5 economic events, 2 historical and cultural events, 3 transport events, 12 cultural and social events, 2 environmental events, 4 scientific and technological events, 2 educational events, 1 external event and 1 sports events.
Among them, many important milestones are mentioned such as: "Ho Chi Minh Campaign won all" (1995); "The 6th National Assembly decided to name Saigon - Gia Dinh as Ho Chi Minh City" (1976); " Establishment of Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone" (1991); " Establishment of Ho Chi Minh City National University" (1995); " Opening of Ho Chi Minh City Securities Exchange Center" (2000); "Formal operation of Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien" (2024)...
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le emphasized the importance of honoring these golden marks, not only as a recognition of achievements but also a motivation for the city to continue to develop civilization and culture. Ms. Nguyen Thi Le especially honored 50 outstanding literary and artistic works and 50 iconic construction works, affirming that this is the crystallization of the intelligence, enthusiasm and dedication of many generations.
Previously, the Voting Council had compiled 57 nominations and organized to collect opinions from more than 9,000 people on 50 outstanding events and activities. This announcement is part of a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), aiming to promote achievements in various fields, arouse aspirations and the great national unity bloc.
Also within the framework of the event, 50 typical construction works/clusters were also honored through 3 carefully selected reviews, in the fields of health, civil - industry, culture - education, infrastructure - transportation and housing - urban area. These are works associated with the image of Ho Chi Minh City, awarded many prestigious awards and has made great contributions to the development of the city and the whole country for the past 50 years.
