On February 20, Mr. Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province - chaired the 12th extraordinary session of the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province.
At the conference, delegates voted to approve the Resolution on dismissal of Mr. Pham Thien Nghia from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021 - 2026 to retire early according to their wishes; Resolution on dismissal of Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen from the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term X, 2021 - 2026 for being transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.
The meeting also approved the draft Resolution on reorganizing specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee, such as establishing the Department of Finance on the basis of merging the Department of Finance with the Department of Planning and Investment; the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the basis of merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; the Department of Construction on the basis of merging the Department of Construction with the Department of Transport; the Department of Science and Technology on the basis of merging the Department of Science and Technology with the Department of Information and Communications; the Department of Home Affairs on the basis of merging the Department of Home Affairs with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; the Provincial People's Committee Office on the basis of merging the Department of Foreign Affairs into the Provincial People's Committee Office.
At the same time, reorganize specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Dong Thap province by transferring and receiving functions and tasks but not changing their names, including: Department of Health; Department of Education and Training; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province; Department of Industry and Trade; Department of Justice; Provincial Inspectorate.
At the session, the People's Council of Dong Thap province also elected Mr. Pham Van Chuan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Sa Dec City Party Committee as Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term X, 2021 - 2026.
