Within the framework of the working trip to attend the high-level joint discussion session of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and carry out bilateral activities in the US, on the afternoon of September 21 (local time), in New York City, General Secretary and President To Lam received leaders of a number of US corporations.
Receiving Mr. Chip Kaye, Chairman of Warburg Pincus Group, General Secretary and President To Lam said that Vietnam highly appreciates the group for accompanying and investing in many important areas of the Vietnamese economy in recent years.
General Secretary and President To Lam wished that Warburg Pincus Group would continue to help Vietnam form larger-scale enterprises with higher management capacity, better access to international capital markets; and contribute to building a more modern financial and investment ecosystem in Vietnam; welcomed the group to continue to expand investment in areas where the group has strengths and Vietnam has great demand such as industrial infrastructure - logistics, digital infrastructure, financial services - fintech, technology, high-quality healthcare and new growth areas.
General Secretary and President To Lam proposed that Warburg Pincus Group prioritize expanding investment and jointly developing Vietnamese enterprises with regional competitiveness; help enterprises improve management, technology, productivity standards and gradually expand to the regional market; accompany the construction of an international financial center in Vietnam; continue to modernize the initial public offering (IPO) and listing market; develop Real Estate Investment Fund (REIT) and mobilize long-term institutional capital for real estate - infrastructure.
General Secretary and President To Lam wished Warburg Pincus Group to promote its role as a bridge for US businesses to better understand the development orientation, investment environment and new cooperation opportunities in Vietnam, in a substantive, sustainable and mutually beneficial direction.
Expressing gratitude to General Secretary and President To Lam for taking the time to receive him, Mr. Chip Kaye said that Warburg Pincus focuses on investing long-term capital in businesses with growth potential, participating in strategic support, management, market expansion and improving operational efficiency. Key areas include technology, finance, health and industry, real estate development and capital solutions.
In the coming time, Warburg Pincus Group will continue to expand investment in sectors with long-term growth prospects, especially AI, digital infrastructure, data centers, financial services, healthcare, logistics and infrastructure assets.
Informing about the results of investment cooperation in Vietnam in the past time, Mr. Chip Kaye expressed his desire to continue to cooperate and expand investment in Vietnam, promote digital industry infrastructure and sustainable development in Vietnam; contributing to connecting the Vietnamese market with the world market.
On the same day, General Secretary and President To Lam received Mr. Brendan Nelson, Chairman of Boeing Global, Senior Vice President of Boeing Corporation; and Mr. Tim Cook, Executive Chairman of Apple Corporation.
