On June 10, at the regular meeting in May 2025, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee gave opinions on the draft project to reorganize the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, socio-political organizations and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State at the provincial and commune levels. Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting.
According to the project, 5 organizations including: Labor Federation, Farmers' Association, Women's Union, Veterans Association, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union will be reorganized into specialized committees under the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. Advisory committees and public service units with similar functions will be merged or dissolved, and tasks will be transferred to common units.
The specialized departments in mass organizations will be streamlined to 1 or 2 units, ending the activities of 4 industry unions, transferring the Labor Culture House and support centers to the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee for management.
Some units such as the Truong Bon Relic Site Management Board and the Vietnam Construction Trade Unions will be transferred to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism or the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
For 18 mass associations, the project plans to arrange phase 1 in the direction of being under the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; phase 2 will merge associations with similar activities. At the district and commune levels, the organizational model is also adjusted in the direction of unit-centricity, reducing staffing, ensuring operational efficiency.
Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung requested the agency in charge of the project to absorb opinions at the meeting, review the organization model to ensure scientificity, efficiency, and suitability to the new situation, while closely following the direction and guidance from the Central Government to complete the project in the coming time.
