Sending expectations in the election
In the joyful atmosphere of the 16th National Assembly Deputy Election Day and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, right from the morning of March 15, millions of voters nationwide went to vote in the election, selecting typical delegates who are worthy of representing the will and aspirations of the people in state power agencies.

Along with voters nationwide participating in the election, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh (1927 born) - former Vice President - personally cast her ballot at Central Military Hospital 108 (Hanoi). Former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh has been associated with the National Assembly Deputy elections from the first term to now.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh shared that this is an important political task, building the government, which is the responsibility, task and right of all citizens. She expressed her hope that this election will select quality delegates to contribute to the cause of national construction.
In the vibrant flow of modern Vietnamese history, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh is one of the special figures who left a deep impression in the hearts of the people as well as international friends. Not only excellently demonstrating the role of a diplomat, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh also left a strong impression in the field of education and many other responsibilities assigned by the Party and State.
In the book "A Heart for the Country" (National Political Publishing House Truth), she wrote memoirs recalling the time in 1992 when she was nominated for the position of Vice President, she herself refused because she was 65 years old and about to retire. But then, with a heart for the country, she asked herself and replied: "Whatever I do is for the country, not for any other purpose". That simple answer is the deepest proof of public service ethics, of the spirit of responsibility of a revolutionary cadre, dedicated throughout his life.
The memoirs in Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh's book do not have autobiographical or personal honoring colors, but are full of humanity and social responsibility. She wrote: "My life is associated with the life of the nation... I compare our country to a boat. Through many rapids, the Fatherland's boat has gone to the open sea, ahead is a new horizon".
109-year-old model grandmother attends opening ceremony and votes in Quang Tri
Also on the election day, there were voters, especially the elderly, who still participated in voting. That is the case of Mrs. Duong Thi Sao (109 years old, in constituency No. 4, My Thuy commune, Quang Tri province) who set an example by attending the opening ceremony and voting in the area.
Or that is the case of Mr. and Mrs. Le Trong Ngu (100 years old) and Mrs. Vu Thi Yen (98 years old) who attended the opening ceremony and exercised their voting rights and obligations at the Dong Trung election organization, Quang Dong commune, Nghe An province.

This information was just shared with the press by Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the National Election Council - at the Office of the National Election Council, March 15.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that at 7 am on March 15, polling stations simultaneously opened, in which Gia Lai and Tay Ninh had many units voting early from 5-6 am.
According to reports from localities, as of 10:00 AM, 9 provinces had voter turnout of over 50%, of which Lao Cai was the highest at nearly 70%; many places above 40%.
Overall, the whole country has now reached 40% of voters going to the polls (more than 30 million voters have gone to the polls). "Today's atmosphere is really exciting. All leaders, former leaders of the Party, State and local leaders have voted the first ballots for this election at their place of residence or work," the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly shared.
Another special case, according to Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, is the youngest voter who went to vote. This voter is Pham Minh Hoang in constituency No. 12, Trung Hanh ward, Hai Phong city.
Perhaps voter Pham Minh Hoang will not forget his first vote in his life, as a reward to organize his 18th birthday on a special occasion like today," the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly shared.
