On March 15, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee organized a ministerial-level scientific seminar on the life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh.

At the workshop, Major General Ho Van Thai - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 9 - said: Born into a farming family in Luong Hoa commune (Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province), with a patriotic heart and a desire to liberate the nation from the domination of colonialism and feudal laws, comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh participated in revolutionary activities at the age of 16. Although still young, thanks to her strong, indomitable will, passionate patriotism and intelligence, she was the first woman chosen by the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee to join the delegation of cadres crossing the sea to the North to report to the Party and Uncle Ho about the situation in the Southern battlefield. Overcoming countless difficulties, hardships and dangers, with the network of defenders and strict controls of the enemy, the ship carrying 12 tons of weapons and bullets returned to the South to dock safely, promptly supporting the battlefield, which is one of the premises for forming the policy of opening the "Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea" in the future resistance war against the US.
At the end of 1959, as Deputy Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, she was sent to receive Resolution 15. Returning to Ben Tre, in early 1960 she directly directed the "Dong Khoi" - a new concept named by her - which broke out on January 17, 1960). From here, the legendary "Long hair Army" was born. Along with that is the motto of attacking the enemy with "three lines of armored fighting" - politics combined with weapons and military transport - the wonderful creative way of fighting the enemy of the people's war, quickly spreading throughout the South.

Major General Le Xuan The - Deputy Commander of Military Region 7 - shared that during the years of the resistance war against the US (1965 - 1975), as Deputy Commander of the Command of the Armed Forces for the Liberation of South Vietnam (Ranger Command), Major General Nguyen Thi Dinh led and directed the guerrilla movement on battlefield B2. The activities and contributions of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh have contributed to the excellent completion of the tasks of the Regional Command, the agency leading and commanding the revolutionary armed forces in the Southern battlefield, contributing significantly to the victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Acting Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee Ho Thi Hoang Yen said that when mentioning the Dong Khoi movement in Ben Tre, it is impossible not to mention comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh, one of the outstanding children of the homeland of Dong Khoi in particular and the Vietnamese people in general. An excellent leader, a resilient symbol of Vietnamese women in the cause of national liberation struggle. The revolutionary life of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh is associated with important milestones in the history of the nation, especially the role of Ms. Ba Dinh in the Dong Duoc Ben Tre movement in 1960, opening a heroic history of the revolution in Southern Vietnam.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department - said that the presentations at the workshop highlighted the vibrant activities and affirmed the outstanding and outstanding contributions of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh to the Ben Tre revolutionary movement since he was a communist soldier participating in the Viet Minh uprising movement to gain power, until joining the first delegation of cadres crossing the North Sea (at the end of March 1946) to report to Uncle Ho and the Party Central Committee about the situation of the Southern revolution and ask for support, creating a premise for the formation of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Road in the later stages of the resistance war to save the country.
In particular, with the responsibility of Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh and the Provincial Party Committee have grasped the situation and creatively implemented Resolution No. 51 of the Party Central Committee (term II), the policy of the Southern Party Committee and the Central and Southern Provincial Party Committee to promptly launch and direct the Ben Tre Dong Khoi movement - kick-off the Dong Khoi movement in the whole South, bringing the Southern revolution into a new phase of struggle, shifting from the position of maintaining the force to proactively advancing. Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh became the soul of the Dong Khoi Ben Tre movement and the legendary "long-haired army".
