On July 3, in Hanoi, the Supervisory Delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the topic "Implementation of policies and laws on social insurance in the period 2021 - 2026" held its first session.
Speaking at the meeting, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh - Head of the Supervisory Delegation emphasized that social insurance is one of the pillars of the social security system, a major policy of the Party and State to ensure the rights of workers, contributing to social stability and sustainable development of the country.
In recent years, policies and laws on social insurance have continued to be improved, and coverage has been increasingly expanded. However, reality is raising many issues that need to be fully and objectively assessed to continue to improve policies and improve the effectiveness of implementation.
On that basis, the National Assembly Standing Committee has selected this topic to conduct supervision to comprehensively assess the implementation of policies and laws on social insurance in the period 2021 - 2026.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh requested the members of the Supervisory Delegation to identify policy inadequacies to propose perfecting the law, better ensuring the legitimate rights of workers and meeting the development requirements of the country.
At the meeting, the Supervisory Delegation gave opinions on the draft Detailed Supervision Plan and Report Outlines. In which, delegates suggested that it is necessary to review, study, and closely follow the objectives to determine the focus for the Report Outlines to be more specific and thorough, and the results obtained will be closer to reality.
The content of supervision needs to clearly define the 2 stages of implementing the Law on Social Insurance 2014 and the Law on Social Insurance 2024; pay attention to evaluating the results of implementing new contents, issues arising in the implementation of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 when implementing local governments at 2 levels and clarifying the causes.
Innovate supervision methods, develop scientific and reasonable plans; select suitable localities; assign tasks associated with the functions and tasks of each agency and professional department of the Supervisory Delegation members, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh requested the Culture and Social Affairs Committee - the standing body of the Supervisory Delegation - to fully absorb the opinions at the session, complete the dossier, and submit it to the National Assembly Standing Committee for comments at the 2nd session, July session.
