On the morning of August 25, Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee - was assigned by the Politburo to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.

In his first speech in his new position, Mr. Tran Luu Quang expressed his emotion and expressed his deep gratitude to General Secretary To Lam, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat, the Central Organizing Committee and the Politburo for entrusting him with this great responsibility.

According to the new Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, this is a great joy for the individual, family and the places where he used to work. However, besides that honor, what remained in him the most was still worries and worries.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang emphasized: " worries because the task assigned to the city is extremely large. Worried because of the expectations of leaders, of nearly 14 million people for a better life; the expectation of the business community and investors for an effective government, creating a fair and sustainable development environment, whether it is a large or small enterprise.

The biggest concern, according to Mr. Tran Luu Quang, is how the Ho Chi Minh City leadership team needs to connect and coordinate to create common strength.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang hopes that each cadre and leader should put aside the difference in hometown and origin, to think and act together with the highest sense of responsibility for the city, for a new development space.

Affirming that he will fully absorb the comprehensive and in-depth instructions of the Standing Committee of the Secretariat of Tran Cam Tu, Mr. Tran Luu Quang said that the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will concretize these orientations into documents, action programs and practical instructions, in order to develop Ho Chi Minh City in accordance with the vision, aspirations and expectations of the people.
