Mr. Nguyen Van Nen was assigned to be the Standing Member of the 14th National Party Congress Documents Subcommittee, and at the same time continued to monitor and direct the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee until the 14th National Party Congress.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, born in 1957, from Tay Ninh province, has a bachelor's degree in law and a high level of political theory.
During his working career, he has held many important positions: Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Highlands Steering Committee; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.
In November 2013, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen was approved to hold the position of Minister and Head of the Government Office. He was later elected to the Central Party Secretariat, holding the position of Chief of the Party Central Committee Office.
In October 2020, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen became Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
From July 1, 2025, after Ho Chi Minh City merged with Binh Duong province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the new Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
