In late September, the airport of Division 371 (Air Defense - Air Force) welcomed hundreds of blue beret soldiers busily preparing their luggage to depart for peacekeeping missions. A heavy, arduous but also glorious mission in the international arena.
In that proud journey, there were very young officers, carrying the faith and aspirations of youth to missions in faraway Africa.
One of the youngest officers participating in the UN peacekeeping mission of the two teams (Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 and Engineering Team No. 3) this time is Lieutenant Do Thi Dieu Huyen. The female Lieutenant was born in 2001 and graduated from university just one year ago.
After working at the Military Hospital, Dieu Huyen was one of 63 officers and soldiers of Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 on duty in South Sudan.
Carrying the aspirations of youth, Dieu Huyen shared her desire to devote her youth and strength to the noble duty and mission of preserving peace, spreading the image of peace-loving Vietnamese people.
“This is an opportunity to learn, contribute and gain experience. Through the training and preparation process, being trusted and assigned tasks, I am ready for the long-awaited journey and confident in the position of administrative officer.
"Being proud of the name of the green beret soldier is not only a symbol but also a reminder of the noble mission that I am undertaking" - the female Lieutenant shared.
Also preparing the necessary luggage to go to the mission in faraway Africa, Lieutenant Tran Yen Linh (born in 1997) performed the task of resuscitation nurse at Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 in South Sudan.
As a nurse, Yen Linh said she felt extremely honored to be able to contribute to the health care of the people here. Knowing that there are many difficulties and challenges ahead, the female Lieutenant always believes in herself and the help and support of her colleagues.
“I will try my best to complete my mission well, worthy of the trust of the country and family. Through this, I would also like to thank my family, friends, and teammates who have always been by my side, encouraging me throughout the past time and the journey ahead” - Lieutenant Tran Yen Linh shared.
Major General Pham Manh Thang - Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department - said that Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 has an official staff of 63 comrades, who have been fully trained in politics, military, technical logistics, medical expertise, peacekeeping knowledge, especially practical training, close to the situation and tasks at the mission..., fully meeting the criteria of the United Nations and the requirements to carry out the mission.
Also deployed this time was the Engineering Team No. 3 of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, with an official strength of 184 comrades, including 18 female soldiers.
