On the morning of October 3, at the Provincial Conference Center, the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, opened its official session.
Attending and directing the Congress were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia.
At the Congress, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee - announced the Politburo's Decision on appointing the Party Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van said that recently, the Politburo agreed to allow Mr. Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term - to stop participating in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, stop holding the position of Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term and related positions, so that the Central Committee can carry out the process of recommending and electing him as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
Mr. Ho Quoc Dung was born on August 15, 66. The hometown is in Cat Tai commune, Phu Cat district, the old Binh Dinh province (now De Gi commune, Gia Lai province). He has a political theory qualification: Senior; professional qualification: Master of Law.
Since 2009, he has held the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province for the 2004-31 term. In June 2011, he was a member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province for the 2011-2016 term.
On November 21, 2014, he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XVIII, 2010-2015; Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, term XI, 2011-2016.
In October 2015, he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XIX, 2015-2020; Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, term XI, 2011-2016.
On June 24, 2016, he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XIX, 2015-2020; Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, term XII, 2016-2021.
On October 15, 2020, at the 20th Congress of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, he was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 20th term, 2020-2025.
On December 6, 2020, he held the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XX, 2020-2025; Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province, term XII, 2016-2021.
On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, term 2021-2026.
On June 30, 2025, he will hold the position of Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020 - 2025 term.
