On August 21, the Chau Doc Ward Party Committee held the 1st Congress, term 2025-2030 with the participation of 247 official delegates representing more than 3,120 Party members from 78 Party organizations in the entire Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee - attended and gave a speech directing the Congress.
The Congress agreed on the general goal by 2030 to build a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; develop science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; focus resources on developing socio-economic infrastructure, building Chau Doc as the central urban area of the southwestern border of An Giang province.
To achieve this goal, the Congress agreed to vote on 3 breakthroughs to implement 19 specific targets.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai agreed with the goal of building Chau Doc into a central urban area of the southwestern border of the province as set out by the Congress, and suggested 5 specific solutions for the Party Executive Committee of the Ward for the 2025-2030 term to successfully achieve the goal.
First, continue to strengthen the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects; determined to build a truly "streamlined - compact - strong - efficient - effective - effective" Party Committee and political system, serving the people.
Second, continue to affirm the important position of Chau Doc as one of the locomotives for dynamic socio-economic development of the province;
Third, improve the material, spiritual and cultural life of the people, uphold the goals of "No more dilapidated temporary houses; no more poor and near-poor households";
Fourth, promote the building of digital government and comprehensive digital transformation;
Fifth, closely following the grassroots, grasping the developments in the people; in parallel with promoting people's diplomacy, enhancing friendly cooperation, developing the economy and culture with the border locality of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The Congress also launched and 100% of delegates voluntarily responded to contribute to support people affected by natural disasters with an amount of nearly 38 million VND.
The Congress announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee to appoint 32 members to join the Executive Committee of the Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Mr. Lam Quang Thi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Chau Doc Ward - was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Chau Doc Ward Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
