During his work process, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh held many positions, including a long time working in the banking industry, having held many positions: Deputy General Director of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank); Chief of Office of the State Bank of Vietnam; General Director of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade (Vietcombank); Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietcombank; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietcombank.
From June 2021 to October 2024, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh was transferred by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee.
