On the morning of October 18, the leader of Hoan Kiem Ward Police (Hanoi) informed Lao Dong Newspaper about the incident of tourists being harassed at Hoan Kiem Lake.
According to the leader of Hoan Kiem Ward Police, after the clip related to the incident spread on social media, the Ward Police urgently stepped in to check and verify.
Through verification, Hoan Kiem Ward Police determined that at around 6:00 p.m. on October 10, L.T.A (born in 1996, Tam Chuc Ward, Ninh Binh Province) went to the Hoan Kiem Lake area to sell street vendors (hiding in the form of chicken hair).
This person used his hand to touch the head of a girl (identified as a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) sitting on a chair on the lake to offer to buy goods. The girl did not buy and the friend sitting next to her told L.T.A to go somewhere else.
T.A was upset and then said something that made the girl angry.
The tourist then called the police to report T.A. to harassment. T.A was upset and insulted the two tourists and splashed saliva at them but it was not up to them.

Witnessing the incident, the surrounding people immediately intervened.
A representative of Hoan Kiem Ward Police said that immediately after receiving the information, the Crime Prevention Team and the Order Police Team invited T.A to the headquarters for questioning, and at the same time propagated and reminded him not to repeat the offense.
"Up to now, the ward police have not had enough basis to administratively handle L.T.A" - the representative said and suggested that tourists involved in the incident go to Hoan Kiem ward police to report to the authorities to verify, clarify the case, and strictly handle the violation (if any).
