HCMC - On October 13, Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc sent a letter to businessmen and enterprises in the city.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City has continuously affirmed its role as the economic locomotive of the country.

From an urban area of more than 3 million people after the merger, up to now, the merger and consolidation of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong province, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has previously formed a new super urban area named Ho Chi Minh City, with an area of 6,773 km2, an estimated population of 13.608 million people, with 168 commune-level administrative units, including 113 wards, 54 communes and 1 special zone (Con Dao).

After the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, the City continues to affirm its important position in the national socio-economic situation, with the total GRDP value in 2025 estimated at VND 3.03 million billion, an increase of more than 1.5 times compared to 2020, accounting for 23.5% of the country's GDP, GRDP per capita in 2025 is estimated at 8,944 USD, higher than the national average of 1.7%, state budget revenue reaches 737,000 billion VND, accounting for 36.7% of the total national budget revenue.

These figures are not only statistics, but also vivid evidence of the resilience, bravery and spirit of constant innovation of the City named after Uncle Ho - affectionate, dynamic and creative.

In that 50-year journey, the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA) has affirmed its important role. Since its early days as the City's Industry and Trade Communications Board, HUBA has become a common home of nearly 17,000 member businesses, a trusted bridge between the government and the business community; a place to connect, criticize and give policy advice, promote digital transformation, green transformation, as well as sustainable socio-economic development.
