Mr. Phung Van Hai holds the position of Chief Justice of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Court

On the afternoon of May 20, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) held a ceremony to announce decisions on personnel work in Tay Ninh.

According to the decision of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Mr. Phung Van Hai - Deputy Chief Justice of the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Chief Justice of the People's Court of Tay Ninh province. The term of appointment is 5 years, from May 19, 2026.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Pham Quoc Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Ninh province and representatives of leaders of relevant agencies and units.

According to the leader of the Supreme People's Court, Mr. Phung Van Hai has 32 years of working in the Court sector, has held many positions from district level to leaders of specialized courts and held the position of Deputy Chief Justice of the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City in the past 4 years.

The Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court requested Mr. Phung Van Hai in his new position to continue to promote his capacity and bravery, quickly approach work, maintain internal solidarity, improve the quality of adjudication, accelerate the progress of case resolution and strengthen coordination with local internal affairs agencies.

Leaders of the Supreme People's Court also emphasized the requirement to promote judicial reform, digital transformation, and build "Electronic Courts", meeting development requirements in the context of Tay Ninh expanding its administrative boundaries and economic development.

Speaking to receive the assignment, Mr. Phung Van Hai expressed his gratitude to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, leaders of the Supreme People's Court and leaders of Tay Ninh province for trusting him with the important responsibility.

The new Chief Justice of the People's Court of Tay Ninh province said that he will work with the collective of the People's Courts at two levels in the province to focus on stabilizing the organizational structure after the merger, ensuring continuous trial work, not allowing backlogs of cases, prosecuting the right people, the right crimes, in accordance with the law, and not allowing wrongful convictions or omissions of criminals.

Mr. Phung Van Hai also affirmed that he will continue to promote judicial reform, digital transformation, improve the quality of the contingent of officials and judges; at the same time, strengthen coordination with internal affairs agencies to improve the effectiveness of crime prevention and combat and resolve legal disputes in the area.

Previously, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Le Quoc Dung - former Chief Justice of the People's Court of Tay Ninh province to hold the position of Deputy Chief Justice of the Appellate Court of the Supreme People's Court in Ho Chi Minh City from May 15, 2026 until retirement.
