On the morning of September 21, at the 5th session (specialized session) of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, delegates conducted personnel work.
With a majority of votes in favor, Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Institute, was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.
After Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu was elected, the Standing Committee of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee included Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc and 7 Vice Chairmen, including: Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha (Standing Vice Chairman), Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh, Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, Mr. Bui Minh Thanh, Mr. Tran Van Bay and Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu.
Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu, 42 years old, from Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province, now belonging to Dong Thap province.
He holds a doctorate in International Political Economics; a master's degree in Sociology - Globalization, Internationalization and Management; a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences - European Studies and advanced political theory.
Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu has many years of experience in teaching, research and management at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
In December 2022, he was elected Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies. In August 2024, he was appointed Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies.
From October 2025 to now, Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu has successively held the positions of: Member of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2030, Chairman of the Executive Agency of the Vietnam International Finance Center in Ho Chi Minh City and National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
