Assignment of tasks of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and 6 Deputy Prime Ministers

Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision No. 666/QD-TTg assigning the work of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers.

1. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung - Secretary of the Government Party Committee

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung leads and comprehensively manages all activities under the functions, tasks, and powers of the Government.

Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Directly directing and administering the following areas of work:

- National defense, national security and foreign affairs strategy.

- Socio-economic development strategy and plan of the whole country.

- National financial, credit, and monetary strategies and policies; orientations for using the state budget.

- Diplomacy and foreign relations.

- Personnel work; organizational structure; administrative reform; administrative boundaries; general issues on emulation and commendation work.

- Coordination relationship between the Government and Party agencies, the National Assembly, the President, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and central agencies of socio-political organizations.

- General direction on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Chairman of the State Steering Committee for the East Sea - Islands; Chairman of the National Committee for Digital Transformation; Chairman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council; Head of the State Steering Committee for key national programs, works, and projects; Head of the National Steering Committee for Cyber Safety and Security; Head of the Government's Steering Committee for Administrative Reform; Chairman of a number of National Councils and Committees and Heads of other important Steering Committees.

2. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee

Performing the duties of Standing Deputy Prime Minister.

Monitoring and directing: Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Construction, Government Office; some areas of the Ministry of Public Security as assigned by the Prime Minister.

3. Deputy Prime Minister Phan Van Giang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee

concurrently holding the position of Minister of National Defense.

Monitoring and directing: Ministry of National Defense; some areas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as assigned by the Prime Minister.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, directly monitoring and directing the following areas of work:

- National defense and security assurance work.

- Border work and issues of the East Sea - Islands.

- Foreign non-governmental organizations, foreign non-governmental organizations.

- Vietnam's relationship with international and regional organizations.

- The work of Vietnamese people abroad and issues of foreigners in Vietnam.

- Human rights issues.

- Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of ministries, sectors, and fields assigned to be in charge.

4. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee

Monitoring and directing: Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, directly monitoring and directing the following areas of work:

- Regular issues on emulation - commendation, administrative reform.

- Labor, employment, people with meritorious services, gender equality.

- Salary and social insurance policies.

- Health, population, family and children.

- Social issues. Management of drug detoxification.

- Culture; tourism; physical education, sports.

- Media, newspapers, publishing...

5. Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee

Monitoring and directing: Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, directly monitoring and directing the following areas of work:

- Ethnic, religious.

- The implementation of the National Target Program on building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2026 - 2030.

- Directly in charge of science and technology; innovation, development of the innovation ecosystem nationwide and abroad; digital transformation.

- Content related to semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence...

6. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee

Ministry of Finance, State Bank of Vietnam, Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Vietnam Bank for Development, Deposit Insurance.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, directly monitoring and directing the following areas of work:

- Investment plan; forecasts and macroeconomic management policies.

- Finance, prices; currency, banking; capital market, stock market; financial investment sources; State reserves.

- Arranging and renovating state-owned enterprises.

- Develop business types. Collective economy, cooperatives.

- General mechanisms and policies on public asset management (resolving work related to public asset management in specialized fields directed by Deputy Prime Ministers in charge of the field).

- Official development assistance (ODA) and preferential loan mobilization.

- Foreign direct investment (FDI), Vietnam's investment abroad.

- Contents related to the International Financial Center in Vietnam...

7. Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau - Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee

Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education and Training, Government Inspectorate.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, directly monitoring and directing the following areas of work:

- Building institutions, building a socialist rule-of-law state.

- Handling international disputes and lawsuits.

- Judicial reform.

- Education, training; vocational education.

- Prevention and combat of corruption, negativity, wastefulness; inspection, settlement of complaints and denunciations...

This decision takes effect from April 9, 2026.
