According to the approved Session program, today (April 8), the First Session of the 16th National Assembly continues with many important contents.
In the morning, the National Assembly will hold a separate meeting to carry out the following contents: Listen to the Submission and Appraisal Report on the proposal to the National Assembly to approve the appointment of Judges of the Supreme People's Court (SPC); discuss and approve the proposal to appoint Judges of the SPC by secret ballot.
After that, the National Assembly listened to the presentation of the draft Resolution, discussed and voted to approve the draft Resolution on approving the appointment of Judges of the Supreme People's Court.
Listen to the Submission, draft Resolution, and Appraisal Report on the structure of the number of Government members; discuss and vote to approve the draft Resolution on the structure of the number of Government members.
The National Assembly also listened to the Submission on the list for the National Assembly to approve the proposal to appoint Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government; discussed and approved the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government by secret ballot.
The National Assembly will listen to the presentation of the draft Resolution, discuss and vote to approve the Resolutions on approving the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government.
At the same time, listening to the Submission on the list of Vice Presidents and members of the National Defense and Security Council; approving the President's proposal on the list of Vice Presidents and members of the National Defense and Security Council by secret ballot; listening to the presentation of the draft Resolution, discussing and voting to approve the draft Resolution on approving the Vice President and members of the National Defense and Security Council.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall, conducting the following contents: listening to the Submission and Appraisal Report on 2 contents: Draft Capital Law (amended); Draft Resolution on coordination mechanisms, specific policies to improve the effectiveness of preventing and resolving international investment disputes.
Listening to the Submission and Appraisal Report on 2 projects: Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation; Law on Belief and Religion (amended).
Also in the afternoon, the National Assembly listened to the Submission and Appraisal Report on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Representative Offices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad.
The National Assembly will discuss in groups the Draft Law on the Capital (amended); the Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation; the Draft Law on Belief and Religion (amended).
On the afternoon of April 7, with 495/495 National Assembly deputies participating in the vote in favor (100%), the National Assembly passed a Resolution to elect Comrade Le Minh Hung, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee, National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term, to hold the position of Prime Minister for the term 2026-2031.
On the same morning, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution on the organizational structure of the Government for the 16th National Assembly term, including 14 ministries and 3 ministerial-level agencies: Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, State Bank of Vietnam, Government Inspectorate, Government Office.
