Dong Thap - The Provincial People's Council launched a competition to achieve achievements in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly.

On the morning of October 7, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Dong Thap province held an online conference to launch the emulation movement to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026). At the provincial bridge, there were the participation of Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province; Mr. Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Thang emphasized that this is an emulation movement of special significance in the history of the Vietnamese revolution.

The first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly created an important turning point, signaling that the Vietnamese revolutionary state has a National Assembly, Government, progressive and integrated Constitution, and a system of government representing the Vietnamese people.

“With that profound meaning, the People's Council of Dong Thap province launched and widely implemented among delegates, delegation groups, People's Council Committees; cadres, civil servants, and employees of the Office of People's Councils at all levels, the Standing Committee of the People's Councils of cities and districts, and voters across the province to respond to emulation activities, achieve practical and effective achievements,” Mr. Thang emphasized.

Accordingly, from now until the end of 2025, in addition to regular activities, Dong Thap will focus on the following areas and activities: Propaganda to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly; participate in the National Press Award on the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council; respond to the campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and the People's Council; cultural and artistic activities "Proud of the People's Representative of the Land of Pink Lotus" to celebrate Uncle Ho's birthday; Contest of writing feelings, artistic compositions and building a special magazine with the theme "Worthy of the People's Representative of the Land of Pink Lotus"...

At the launching ceremony, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council presented the Emulation Covenant to the Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Council Committees, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Councils at all levels and 12 Provincial People's Council Delegation Groups.
