Lang Son - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh presented 50 bicycles and 500 sets of books, English reading markers, encouraging disadvantaged students before the new school year.

On August 15, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, and a working delegation visited and presented gifts to students in difficult circumstances who have risen up in their studies in Lang Son province.

Speaking at the program, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly highly appreciated the province's achievements in socio-economic development, especially in the field of education and training.

Currently, universal education and literacy are maintained in 100% of communes and wards; the rate of children and students going to school at all levels of education has reached a high and stable level.

At the recent national excellent student selection exam for grade 12, Lang Son had 28 students win prizes, including one first prize in History.

According to Ms. Thanh, this is a commendable result for a mountainous and border province that still faces many difficulties.

Before the 2026-2027 school year, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the province to continue to effectively implement Resolution 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development; arrange a network of schools and classes suitable to the characteristics of mountainous and border areas.

The province needs to prioritize resources to invest in facilities, improve the quality of education in remote and isolated areas, ethnic minority areas and border areas, ensuring that students in difficult circumstances can study and develop.

Regarding 11 inter-level boarding schools being built in border communes, expected to serve nearly 12,800 students, Ms. Thanh requested the locality to ensure progress, quality and safety.

In which, the province strives to complete four schools before August 30 to welcome students in the new school year.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also proposed that Lang Son develop vocational education associated with job demand and socio-economic orientation; expand international cooperation, improve the quality of human resources; and at the same time take care of teachers and education managers with solid expertise and dedication to the profession.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee said that the locality is preparing facilities, teaching staff and necessary conditions for the opening day. The construction of 11 inter-level boarding schools in the border area basically meets the requirements.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh and the working delegation presented 50 bicycles and 500 sets of books and English reading markers to students in difficult circumstances.
