The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 2219/QD-TTg on the completion of the National Committee for the Elderly in Vietnam (National Committee).
Accordingly, the Chairman of the National Committee for the Elderly in Vietnam is Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long.
The Vice Chairmen of the National Committee include: Ms. Dao Hong Lan - Minister of Health; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Chairman of the Association of the Elderly in Vietnam.
The members include: Mr. Le Duc Luan - Deputy Minister of Health; Mr. Vu Chien Thang - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc - Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Dang Hoang Oanh - Deputy Minister of Justice; Mr. Vo Van Hung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh - Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Y Vinh thor - Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Mr. Dang Hoang Giang - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The National Committee is responsible for researching and proposing to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to solve important, inter-sectoral problems in protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly.
At the same time, assist the Prime Minister in directing, operating, and coordinating between ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, departments, branches, and localities in developing and implementing the work of the elderly, the National Strategy for the elderly, programs, projects, and tasks in the field of the elderly.
Assist the Prime Minister in directing ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and agencies under the Government in carrying out the work of protecting, caring for, and promoting the role of the elderly.
